Our Recruitment Specialist Marta visits Papworth Royal Hospital

  • Publish Date: Posted about 2 years ago

Our Recruitment Specialist Marta has shared the news that she recently visited Papworth Royal Hospital to experience some of the roles she is currently working with the team at the hospital to recruit into.

Here Marta gives us some background to the visit and what the experience involved.

“I’m pleased to say I had a fantastic time at the hospital, everyone was so welcoming and helpful throughout my visit. I went along to Papworth Royal Hospital to experience the roles for myself, to enable me to get a feel for what is expected of each candidate as they start. I was excited and grateful for the opportunity.

During the first part of my visit, I started in the kitchen where I assisted one of the chefs, I was shown how the kitchen prepares traditional fish and chips, I also learnt how everything is kept clean and tidy to adhere to health and safety standards. I helped deliver the prepared food to the patients’ wards, as well as helping the catering assistants working front of house in the restaurant.

Next, I went to shadow a team of housekeepers, their primary duties included checking the patient’s orders for lunch and evening meals and then delivering the food to each patient’s room, which I found very rewarding.

My visit ended with the cleaning team, I got the opportunity to shadow the cleaners whilst they completed a few rooms, and I got to oversee their procedures to ensure they are following cleanliness standards.

Overall, I was very impressed with the organisation across each role, and everyone was extremely helpful in supporting me during my time at Papworth Royal Hospital. I would like to extend a big thank you to the team and congratulating everyone on an excellent job.”
