Select Recruitment is excited to be recruiting on behalf of a prestigious client near Attleborough. We are seeking a dedicated Poultry Welfare Officer to join a rapidly growing, innovative agricultural team.

Role Overview
As a Poultry Welfare Officer, you will ensure the highest standards of poultry welfare and compliance are met, supporting a team dedicated to maintaining exceptional levels of animal care and environmental sustainability. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in poultry and farm management to advance their career with a leading producer in East Anglia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compliance & Auditing:
    • Ensure adherence to animal welfare and environmental regulations, along with customer codes of practice.
    • Highlight and address any non-compliance issues, formulating clear action plans.
    • Prepare for and accompany external auditors, manage non-conformance responses, and investigate incidents as required.
    • Promote hygiene and bio-security precautions, upholding company policies.
  • Production Support:
    • Play a key role in disease prevention, recognition, and treatment.
    • Attend chick and turkey deliveries, vaccinate stock, and conduct necessary sampling.
    • Liaise with vets to prepare health plans and monitor production KPIs.
  • Team Collaboration:
    • Develop and recommend training materials and needs for the farm team.
    • Work closely with departments including factory technical, production, and sales.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Relevant agricultural or poultry qualification, or significant industry experience.
  • Excellent communication and people management skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities to record and interpret data accurately.
  • Persuasive, influential, and a team player with a comprehensive understanding of poultry production and welfare issues.
What's on Offer
  • Salary: £29,500 per year.
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 am - 5 pm (flexibility required).
