Overview of Role
The Engineering position is a critical role within our client’s team. Under the guidance of senior engineers, this individual will lead projects to develop new products that meet customer requirements. They will be required to implement projects according to project management principles and maintain compliance with regulatory and quality systems. This position involves a mix of hands-on engineering and computer-based work. The role supports the implementation of projects across the product range and requires project management knowledge, problem-solving skills, and strong communication abilities. The individual will interact closely with team members and cross-functional partners such as Sales and Quality.
Role & Responsibilities
The right individual will receive full on-the-job training and guidance, allowing for growth within the team and company. Responsibilities include:
- Leading the concept and design of production tooling that meets the needs of the production department.
- Providing project leadership, including management of timelines and resources.
- Generating and maintaining project documentation, including detail drawings, spare parts lists, and instruction literature.
- Producing regular project update reports.
- Creating and developing tooling using tool room/workshop-based machinery.
- Developing product test methods, performing data analysis, and evaluating design performance and reliability.
- Functioning within all quality systems and regulations.
- Travelling occasionally within the UK and internationally to meet project needs.
- Attending relevant training courses.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience using a range of tool room/workshop-based machinery.
- Experience with 3D CAD software such as SOLIDWORKS.
- A university degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design, or equivalent experience.
- Discipline, self-motivation, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Confidence and comfort in providing both verbal and written updates to senior management, requiring proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and Adobe Creative programs.

- Salary: £30,000 to £38,000 per annum depending on experience
- Hours: 45-hour contract
- Travel: Occasional UK & International travel
