Role Overview
We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to join our client's finance team in the role of Accounts Payable. In this position, you will be responsible for managing the company’s accounts payable function, ensuring accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and manage supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company procedures.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues in a timely manner.
- Prepare and execute payment runs, ensuring payments are made on time.
- Maintain accurate financial records for accounts payable and related transactions.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to resolve payment queries or discrepancies.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including ensuring accounts payable reports are prepared on time.
- Assist in maintaining accurate and up-to-date records for all transactions.
- Ensure compliance with company financial policies and internal controls.
- Provide support for audits and other financial reporting as required.
- Proven experience in an accounts payable role or similar finance position.
- Strong knowledge of accounts payable processes and basic accounting principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (experience with Sage is an advantage).
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to handle high-volume transactions.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- AAT qualification or equivalent is beneficial.
- Experience in the hospitality or leisure industry is an advantage.
